Rājavidyā-Rājaguhya Yoga · The Yoga of Royal Knowledge and Royal Secret
The whole world rests in Bhagavan, and he accepts even a leaf offered with love — whoever you are, become his.
What is happening here?
After Arjuna's questions changed the flow in Chapter 8, Bhagavan now resumes the knowledge-with-realization of Chapter 7 in a new way. He calls it the king of all knowledge and the king of all secrets: the world is pervaded by him, beings rest in him as the wind rests in space, and prakṛti does the work of creation under his presidency, so he is not bound. Those who take him to be an ordinary man disregard him; the great-souled worship him with undivided minds. He carries the welfare of the devotee, accepts a leaf or flower offered with love, asks that every action be offered to him, and declares that even the worst wrongdoer, and anyone of any birth, reaches the supreme goal by taking refuge in him.
Why it comes hereयह अध्याय यहाँ क्यों
Chapter 7 began the subject of jñāna with vijñāna; Arjuna's seven questions at the start of Chapter 8 interrupted it. Having answered them, Bhagavan returns in Chapter 9 to the same subject — what was left unsaid in Chapter 7 — and presents it in an extraordinary way.
Questions this chapter answers
- ?If this knowledge is so easy and supreme, why do people not benefit from it?
- ?How can Bhagavan create the world again and again and still not be bound by that action?
- ?If worship of the devatās needs so many rules, must worship of Bhagavan be even harder?
- ?Is Bhagavan partial if he frees only those who surrender to him?

Verses to begin withमुख्य श्लोक
I carry the welfare of those devoted to Me alone
For those who think of God alone and stay constantly united with Him, God Himself provides what they need and protects what they have.
9.26A leaf, a flower, a fruit, water — offered with love
God does not need elaborate materials or rituals; whatever simple thing is offered with love, He accepts — indeed He eats it.
9.27Whatever you do — offer it to Me
Offer every action — eating, sacrifice, giving, austerity — to God; better still, offer yourself, and every action is offered automatically.
9.30Even the worst wrongdoer who turns to Me alone is to be regarded a saint
If even the vilest person worships God with exclusive devotion, he must be regarded a saint, because he has resolved rightly — in his very self.
9.34Be Mine: mind on Me, worship Me, bow to Me
Become God's devotee, fix the mind on Him, make every act His worship, bow to His every dispensation — so surrendered, you will reach Him.
