English
Sadhaka-SanjivaniO Partha, such is the state of a God-realized soul. Having attained this state, he overcomes delusion. Being established in this state, even at the hour of death, he attains brahmic bliss (identification with the absolute state).
The idea
Summary based on Sadhak Sanjivaniसाधक-संजीवनीपर आधारित सारThis is the Brahmic state; attaining it, one is never deluded, and abiding in it even at the time of death, one reaches the peace of Brahman.

'This' points to the state just described — free of desire, need, 'mine' and 'I'. When ego goes, individuality ends, because it existed only through connection with the world; then one naturally abides in Brahman. This is not a personal state but the attainment of eternal union. Delusion is taking oneself, the real, to be one with the unreal; once the unreal is truly known, the tie breaks and delusion never returns. Even at the end of life, if one turns to the Real, liberation follows, because at death the tie with the body breaks by itself, and attaining what is beyond all states needs only one's aim to turn there.
Step by step
- 1
Accepting 'nothing is mine' makes one free of mamata; 'I need nothing' makes one desireless; 'I have nothing to do for myself' makes one free of ego.
- 2
'Api' (even) means: attained while living, one is liberated in life; attained even at death, one is still freed. It needs no practice, meditation or samadhi — it can happen at once.
- 3
The karma-yogi reaches the same Brahman-nirvana that the Sankhya-yogi reaches.
- 4
To remove two kinds of delusion, Chapter 2 gives two kinds of discrimination: between the embodied Self and the body (2.11–30) and between duty and non-duty (2.31–53).

Examples Swamiji gives in the commentaryव्याख्यामें स्वामीजीके दृष्टान्तArjuna's two delusions
In Chapter 1 Arjuna had both kinds of delusion in which all beings are caught: 'I am a righteous man who sees the faults' and 'these kinsmen will die' (ego and mine), and 'may I not incur sin, may I not go to hell' (desire).
It closes Chapter 2 with hope: this state is not a distant product of long effort but one's natural position, open to anyone, even at the last moment.

Even the beginning of evenness is never destroyed, it never backfires, and even a little of it protects from the great fear of birth and death.
2.53An intellect unshaken by conflicting views

When your intellect, confused by conflicting scriptural views, becomes still and immovable in God, you will attain Yoga.
3.27Nature acts — the deluded ego says "I am the doer"

All actions are done by the gunas of prakriti; one whose mind is deluded by ego assumes, 'I am the doer.'
