English
Sadhaka-SanjivaniAfter your intellect, confused by hearing conflictingdoctrines, has become stable and firm (steady) on God, you will then attain Self-realization or union, with God.
The idea
Summary based on Sadhak Sanjivaniसाधक-संजीवनीपर आधारित सारWhen your intellect, confused by conflicting scriptural views, becomes still and immovable in God, you will attain Yoga.
What is Krishna saying?
Even after crossing worldly delusion, a seeker meets another: confusion from the many differing views of scriptures and schools about the goal and the method. Arjuna's own dilemma — protect family, or do his Kshatriya duty — was of this kind. Swamiji points out that all traditions agree on three things: 'I' am the jiva, the world is to be left, and God is to be attained. Deciding firmly on this makes the intellect still; resolving 'I must attain God alone' makes it immovable. The Yoga then attained is not a new union but the ending of a falsely assumed link with the unreal — our eternal union with God.
Step by step
- 1
Delusion has two parts: worldly (attachment to body, family, wealth) and scriptural (getting entangled in dualism, non-dualism and other debates).
- 2
When unsure, a seeker can settle his path through satsang based on his own inclination, faith and capacity — or take refuge in God and call on him.
- 3
The aim should be to realise the truth, not to accumulate reading or scriptural learning.
- 4
However much the resolve falls short, that much is the delay.

Examples Swamiji gives in the commentaryव्याख्यामें स्वामीजीके दृष्टान्तAn ounce of tangled thread, or a mountain
The worldly net is like a tiny tangle of thread; the scriptural net is like a hundred maunds of tangled thread. That is why Krishna asks for a firm intellect in both — and one unmoving in God.
What could this look like today?
Modern analogy · not from the sourceआधुनिक उदाहरण · मूल ग्रन्थसे नहींself-growth
A seeker can spend years comparing teachers, schools and videos about which path is 'correct', and never begin. The verse points to what all agree on — leave the world's hold, attain God — and asks for one firm decision on that.
Why it matters
It protects the sincere seeker from a subtle trap — endless debate about the path — and reminds that Yoga is our eternal state, only to be uncovered.

When the intellect crosses the swamp of delusion
When your intellect crosses the mire of delusion, you will become dispassionate towards all pleasures heard of and yet to be heard of.
2.48Evenness itself is Yoga
Giving up attachment, staying even in success and failure, established in Yoga, do your work — for evenness is called Yoga.
