इति मत्वा भजन्ते मां बुधा भावसमन्विता:॥ ८॥

मैं संसारमात्रका प्रभव (मूल कारण) हूँ, (और) मुझसे ही सारा संसार प्रवृत्त हो रहा है अर्थात् चेष्टा कर रहा है— ऐसा मानकर मुझमें ही श्रद्धा-प्रेम रखते हुए बुद्धिमान् भक्त मेरा ही भजन करते हैं— सब प्रकारसे मेरे ही शरण होते हैं।

सबकी उत्पत्ति और सबकी चेष्टाका मूल भगवान् ही हैं — ऐसा मानकर बुद्धिमान् भक्त श्रद्धा-प्रेमसे उन्हींका भजन करते हैं।

What is Krishna saying?भगवान् क्या कह रहे हैं?

This verse explains what it means to know God's vibhuti (glory) and yoga (power). 'I am the source of all' — everything seen, heard and understood is His vibhuti; He Himself appears as creation. 'From Me all moves' — all activity draws its existence and energy from Him; this is His yoga. Swamiji says the seeker's gaze should pass beyond people's feelings, conduct and actions to the God at their root. Those who firmly accept this give importance to God alone, and their faith and love flow only to Him — that is their wisdom.

विभूति और योगको तत्त्वसे जानना क्या है — यह इस श्लोकमें बताया गया है। ‘अहं सर्वस्य प्रभव:’ — जो कुछ देखने-सुनने-समझनेमें आता है, वह सब भगवान्की विभूति है; वे स्वयं ही सृष्टिरूपसे प्रकट हुए हैं। ‘मत्त: सर्वं प्रवर्तते’ — सब चेष्टाओंको सत्ता-स्फूर्ति भगवान्से ही मिलती है; यह उनका योग (प्रभाव) है। स्वामीजी कहते हैं कि साधककी दृष्टि प्राणियोंके भाव, आचरण, क्रिया आदिपर न जाकर उनके मूलमें स्थित भगवान्पर जानी चाहिये। ऐसा दृढ़तासे माननेवालोंकी महत्त्वबुद्धि केवल भगवान्में हो जाती है और उनका श्रद्धा-प्रेम भगवान्में ही हो जाता है — यही उनकी बुद्धिमानी है।

Just as all work in a house runs on electricity, every activity in the world runs on God's power.

जैसे बिजलीकी शक्तिसे सब कार्य होते हैं, ऐसे ही संसारकी सब क्रियाओंका मूल कारण भगवान् हैं।

Money only obtains; God creates

रुपये और भगवान्

People prize money because it can get them things. But money only obtains things — it does not create them. From God all things both arise and are obtained.

लोग रुपयोंको महत्त्व देते हैं क्योंकि उनसे वस्तुएँ मिलती हैं; पर रुपयोंसे वस्तुएँ पैदा नहीं होतीं। भगवान्से सब वस्तुएँ पैदा भी होती हैं और मिलती भी हैं।

रुपयोंसे तो वस्तुएँ मिलती हैं, पैदा नहीं होतीं, पर भगवान्से सम्पूर्ण वस्तुएँ पैदा भी होती हैं और मिलती भी हैं!

एतां विभूतिं योगं च मम यो वेत्ति तत्त्वत:।

जो मनुष्य मेरी इस विभूतिको और योग-(सामथ्र्य-)को तत्त्वसे जानता है अर्थात् दृढ़तापूर्वक (सन्देह-रहित) स्वीकार कर लेता है, वह अविचल भक्तियोगसे युक्त हो जाता है; इसमें (कुछ भी) संशय नहीं है।

Nothing exists apart from Me

मेरे सिवाय दूसरा कुछ भी नहीं

मत्त: परतरं नान्यत्किञ्चिदस्ति धनञ्जय।

God alone is the root cause of everything; the whole world is strung on Him like beads of thread on a thread.

भगवान् ही सबके मूल कारण हैं; सारा जगत् सूतकी मणियोंकी तरह उनमें पिरोया हुआ है।

7.12

ये चैव सात्त्विका भावा राजसास्तामसाश्च ये।

जितने भी सात्त्विक भाव हैं (और) जितने भी राजस तथा तामस (भाव हैं, वे सब) मुझसे ही होते हैं— ऐसा उनको समझो। परन्तु मैं उनमें (और) वे मुझमें नहीं हैं।

10.5

अहिंसा समता तुष्टिस्तपो दानं यशोऽयश:।

बुद्धि, ज्ञान, असम्मोह, क्षमा, सत्य, दम, शम तथा सुख, दु:ख, उत्पत्ति, विनाश, भय, अभय और अहिंसा, समता, सन्तोष, तप, दान, यश और अपयश— प्राणियोंके (ये) अनेक प्रकारके अलग-अलग (बीस) भाव मुझसे ही होते हैं।

15.15

I dwell in every heart

मैं सबके हृदयमें स्थित हूँ

सर्वस्य चाहं हृदि सन्निविष्टा मत्त: स्मृतिज्र्ञानमपोहनं च।

God is seated in every heart; memory, knowledge and the removal of doubt come from Him, and He alone is what the Vedas teach.

भगवान् सबके हृदयमें स्थित हैं; स्मृति, ज्ञान और संशयका नाश उन्हींसे होता है और सब वेदोंसे जाननेयोग्य वे ही हैं।

15.19

Whoever knows Me as the Supreme Person worships Me with his whole being

पुरुषोत्तमको जाननेवाला सर्वभावसे भजन करता है

यो मामेवमसम्मूढो जानाति पुरुषोत्तमम्।

Free of delusion, one who knows Me as Purushottama knows everything, and worships Me in every way.

मोहरहित होकर मुझे पुरुषोत्तम जाननेवाला सर्ववित् है और सब प्रकारसे मेरा ही भजन करता है।
