English
Sadhaka-SanjivaniO Partha (Arjuna), the Yogi who perpetually thinks of Me and undividedly remains absorbed in Me, to him I am easily attainable.
The idea
Summary based on Sadhak Sanjivaniसाधक-संजीवनीपर आधारित सारFor one whose mind goes nowhere else and who is always joined to God, God is easily attained.
What is Krishna saying?
After describing the paths of yoga at death, which need mastery over the breath and are hard, Krishna speaks of the easy way to Himself. The one whose mind has no other support or importance than God, who remembers Him from waking to sleep and from the day he took this up until death, finds God easy to reach. Swamiji explains that 'ever-united' does not mean constant mental effort, but steady belonging: 'I am God's and God is mine', just as a Brahmin remains a Brahmin whether he thinks of it or not. This path needs no control of the breath at the end, because it is the awakening of a relationship that already exists.
Step by step
- 1
Undivided mind: 'I belong only to God and God alone is mine; no one else is mine and I am no one else's.'
- 2
Remembering is not a 'doing'; it happens by itself where there is love, and love comes from feeling God as one's own.
- 3
God is not rare — devotees are. God is made to seem hard only by giving reality and importance to body and world.

Examples Swamiji gives in the commentaryव्याख्यामें स्वामीजीके दृष्टान्तA Brahmin stays a Brahmin
A Brahmin knows 'I am a Brahmin, not a Kshatriya or Vaishya'; whether or not he recalls it, it makes no difference to what he is. The one firm in 'I am God's' is ever-united in the same way.
Like an insured possession
Once something is insured, one no longer worries about it breaking or being damaged. Likewise, having handed oneself over to God along with body, senses, mind and intellect, the seeker has no anxiety at all about his destination.
It offers the simplest path of the chapter — no technique, only undivided belonging to God.
