What is Krishna saying?
Swamiji links the three words to the three bodies. The Self is not seen like the gross body and world (avyakta); it is not even thought about like mind and intellect (achintya); and it is free of the change found even in prakriti, the cause of all (avikarya). Across verses 24 and 25 the Self is described through eight negations and four positive terms, but in truth it cannot be described, because it is what lights up speech itself. Experiencing it this way is the real description, and then grief cannot arise.

Why it matters
The Self cannot be grasped as an object of sight or thought; the aim is to experience it, and that experience ends grief.
