आशापाशशतैर्बद्धा: कामक्रोधपरायणा:।
ईहन्ते
कामभोगार्थमन्यायेनार्थसञ्चयान्॥ १२॥
āśāpāśaśatairbaddhāḥ kāmakrodhaparāyaṇāḥ।
īhante
kāmabhogārthamanyāyenārthasañcayān॥ 12॥

साधक-संजीवनी(वे) आशाकी सैकड़ों फाँसियोंसे बँधे हुए मनुष्य काम-क्रोधके परायण होकर पदार्थोंका भोग करनेके लिये उनको ‘इतना धन हो जायगा, इतना मान हो जायगा, शरीरमें नीरोगता आ जायगी’ आदि सैकड़ों आशाओंकी अन्यायपूर्वक धन-संचय करनेकी चेष्टा करते रहते हैं।
